Maria Damaris Medina and her husband Wilson began working with 6 hectares of farmland that sits at the highest point in Pital, overlooking the town and valley which they slowly built over time.
The couple both come from coffee growing families and learned the craft of cultivating coffee at their parents’ sides. They are focused on producing specialty coffee. The farm is verdant joy old-stock Caturra, newly-planted Pink Bourbon, and boasts two beneficios, one producing micro-lots and the other top-quality blending coffees.
The coffee from Huila is fully washed, meaning pulped and fermented the traditional way. Then beans are placed in parabolic dryers where are sun dried for 10-18 days.
The result is a very pleasant coffee with a full body. After drinking, the sweetness of apricots appears and gently changes into a nutelle finish of taste. The aroma is full of cranberries in combination with grapefruit.
